TRAFFIC CHECK POSTS:

Traffic check posts are opened for checking drunken drivers and regulation of traffic round the clock at Maddilapalem and NAD junctions with the strength of 1 HC, 1 PC and 1 HG for round the clock in 3 shifts.

E-CHALLAN SYSTEM & RED LIGHT VIOLATION DETECTION SYSTEM:

e-Challan system was launched on 29.05.2007.  ARVLD system installed at 1) Urvasi junction and 2) Satyam junction and functioning from 06-11-2010. On 24.7.2013 ARVLD system was commissioned at Jagadamba Junction Subsequently in the first week of January,2015 the Jagadamba Junction central median was closed with pre-cast cement blocks to avoid traffic congestion and it is being continued and there is appreciation from the public. According to this system, the cameras will capture the photos of vehicles that violate signal and the same will be transmitted to e-Challan centre.

PROVIDING OF FREE LEFTS AND CENTRAL DIVIDER:

Provided free lefts and central dividers with 2400 Pre Cast Cement Blocks at the junctions. 500 big and 2000 small Radium Delineators on the Central dividers were also provided to avoid road accidents

CAUTIONARY SIGN BOARDS:

About 1500 cautionary sign boards like Accident Prone Area, Parking, No Parking, One way, No U turn, School Zone, Go slow are installed on NH-16 road and other roads in the City limits.

PLYING OF AUTOS IN SERVICE ROAD:

Ensured plying of autos in the service road from Tatichetlapalem to NAD Junction

SPEED BREAKERS:

About 175 Speed Breakers were laid at the required places and on Beach road which resulted the decline of road accidents.

RESTRICTED HOUR ENTRY:

Restricted hour entry to the heavy vehicles into the City from 8AM to 10 PM was strictly implemented.

NO HORN ZONE:

The road from Coast Battery Junction to Park hotel and Singh Hotel Junction to Prakasaraopeta is declared by the Commissioner of Police, Visakhapatnam City as No Horn Zone and it is being implemented.

AUTO RESTRICTION:

Implemented restriction on plying of autos on beach road from Naval Coast Battery Junction to Park hotel Junctions in Saturday, Sunday and holidays for ensuring free flow of traffic.

SPEED LIMIT:

Imposed restrictions on over speeding of all vehicles plying on NH-16, SH-38 and GVMC roads of Visakhapatnam City

TRAFFIC EDUCATION:

Frequent Traffic Awareness Classes are being conducted to Auto, RTC, Lorry Drivers and other vehicle users of 2 wheeler, 4 wheeler drivers to inculcate traffic discipline

ENFORCEMENT WORK:

The violators of traffic regulations are being booked as per the provisions of Indian MV Act, AP MV Rules and Town Nuisance Act as shown below in the table. So far 450893 cases were booked u/s MV Act and an amount of Rs.,83687350 was collected as compounding fees during this year upto November as against 3,82918 cases reported in the year 2014 and 468559 cases reported during the corresponding year of 2013.

Special drives are being conducted against the drunken drivers and the drive on drunken is being organized daily at various places in the Visakhapatnam City.

HEALTH CAMP:

On 10-11-2015 a medical camp was organized with the help of Public Health Organisation. As many as 200 traffic police personnel were examined for B.P and Sugar.

4. Ramatalkies Junction by temporarily re-designing the junction with pre-cast cement blocks.

5. Jagadamba Junction by closing the central median.

6. Forming central median from Tenneti Junction to Seven Hills hospital Junctionwith pre-cast cement blocks.

7. Forming central median from Utagedda Junction to Grandbay hotel with pre-cast cement blocks

8. Shifting of bus shelters at Venkojipalem.
